The place is very clean and well kept. The ladies at the front were very friendly and made check in a breeze. Unfortunately the hidden fees were quite jarring tbh. Im still unclear what the $29 administration fee was for to just sign me up for a storage unit. Another $12 fee I dont even remember what that was for, but the clincher was another almost $24 for a lock that can't be returned. I would have liked all these costs to be more transparent. My advice is to call and ask questions directly rather than book online. It is a nice facility and this is my first storage rental so maybe this is standard practice but I felt a bit tricked. Please be aware of hidden fees and I hope you have a better experience.

I spoke with Amy at the front desk and my experience couldn’t have been any more pleasant. She’s so friendly and personable in an authentic way - it’s not like she’s putting it on for work. The place is super clean, super organized and I am feeling very confident in my choice to use SmartStorage. I was shown around and she let me know all of the important info in a non-overwhelming way. Moving is stressful but putting stuff in storage with SmartStorage is NOT. :)

Frankly, they miss the mark on the "feel good feeling", they are uncooperative, example: Come in thru office, then to enter facility... nope, have to go outside an enter code. Stupid policy that just creates friction. Putting a code at exterior door, then the sliding door inside and then elevator is a bit much. Security theatre at best. You only need to know whos entering the building. The rest is just wasteful. They are on the weekly rate system so you will be paying 13 months of rent instead of 12. They force you to have their insurance. They refuse paper copies of documents signed stating "its not green" and with extreme attitude. The middle loading dock door has been down for months with no repair timeline. And finally the rate increases (obviously not including rate hike from promo to normal rate) are too often and too much. Christ, self storage never used to be this complicated. It used to be more customer friendly and personable. NO ONE is going to post on social media that they just rented a unit, most are there because they need it and its convienent. I have no issues with a 1x per year increase of 3-5% but you take profiteering to a whole new level. Overall it is a fairly clean, new build but just pay for better staff... with the high per sqft fees you charge (interestingly not the highest in the market area), you can afford some decent staff. Get the 'feel good feeling' right and maybe this would be an AAA site to store at with even higher rates being commanded. Regardless. I won't rent again here. Too many friction points.

Came here to pick up some stuff that a ex had looked in a unit and wouldn't give me access, Laurie was great at assessing the policies of U-Haul and gave me all the help she legally could. After our conversation she reached out to her manager and now with thier help and the ex I'm able to obtain my property and move on. Great work great customer service.
